Blogger’s Quilt Festival

3949050962_a9f84dcacd_oBlogQuiltFestivalOct9

My quilt is one I finished three year’s ago,  I actually made the quilt in the early 90’s.   I started piecing it before my DH gave me my 1230 Bernina, which I love and still use today!       So when I got my new machine, of course, I started sewing with it.    Seam allowances changed and the block sizes changed, what a challenge.  I really wanted it bigger and I worked with  the blocks to make as many work and be happy together and decided a finished quilt was better than an unfinished top!!!

I love the background fabric and they antique look of the quilt.

Buggy Barn 2006 062

I entered it at the Buggy Barn Quilt Show in 2006,  I love seeing it pictured with all the quilts in this show.    I edited the picture so only my quilt is shown.

Now  I  must catch up on the show,  talk with you soon.

Blessings,  Carrie

Well, it is a lovely quilt for the show. I know exactly what you mean about different machine changes block sizes..and I swear I still have that 1/4" seam allowance. :-) Makes it hard to start a quilt on somebody else's machine.

Your quilt is so beautiful! I can imagine you loved seeing at the quilt show. It does look old and yet the colors really jump out at you. It is a wonderful combination of colors. Thanks for sharing it.

Beautiful quilt. I can totally relate to the seam allowance difference between machines.

I had to click on the picture to get a better look. I find few quilters who dare to combine oranges and blues...and your quilt does it well.

I love your quilt - great pattern & great colors.
There is a reason why group quilts don't work - seam allowances!
