Oh..... such a long time ago I participated with Karen, of Farmhouse Woolens, in Wool Garden BOM!! It has been a flimsy for awhile now and I am working on getting it quilted. I am going to cross-hatch the background and hand quilting around the wool border.</div>

I have also been working on a few posts about my activities last year. I have many pictures and have unsuccessfully been trying to learn SmileBox. I was thinking it would be a snap!!! Uh No.... so I guess I will pick through the pictures and show highlights. Gonna get some catching up on outings and WIPs, is what I'm up too.....</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
But first I want to give anyone an opportunity to have the patterns for this BOM, so I am giving them away later this month, lets say February 29!!</div>
<div>
It's my sister-in-laws birthday and she is 16. So lets celebrate Jan's big day, since it only comes around every 4 years!! </div>

I turned 59 ...... (sigh) next year is another milestone, my thoughts have been on what is most important and what values and goals I would like to achieve. It has been a very enlightening and meaningful experience. Life can pull us along like a strong current but a choosen path with a purpose brings peace and direction!<div><br></div><div>My birthday trip turned into a tri-fecta event:: First up was to scoot over to Eugene and pick up my mother have a delicious dinner and head up to Seattle the next morning. We talked about all the places we could stop along the way, girls talking about choices, well maybe this should have been done the night before. We finally decided to stop in Des Moines, WA, at <a href="carriagecountryquilts.com" id="id_579f_3d2e_73fa_5430" target="_blank">Carriage</a> Country Quilts!!! Yes that is basically in Seattle!!</div><div>We always love this Quilt Shop, I muse the Jo fabrics looking for old and new alike for my stash!! We found some fun items but alas no pictures!!</div><div><br></div><div>The next morning we drove to Leavenworth, WA for a much anticipated class with Gail Pan offered by Lynn Reppas, proprietor of <a href="www.leavenworthquiltco.com" id="id_d211_a0ee_d920_31c2">Leavenworth Quilt Company</a>. This is a delightful store. We enjoyed the selections of fabrics, wool, kits and a very friendly staff! </div><div><br></div><img id="id_cbdd_88dd_3578_d54e" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDwxmeJK1rosbDRTVNDJSFCrhM1D8zBvPtZWnkpLmO_gwAN3BbveroB6uaNsVsRyRGH6QjKdTo59HCR_wZ5hXSoyCcPSYSzxQXwBZBpLUgCbTZaJh2FOlPCcamqTuaugdTfPQbXr6Gs6y9/" alt="" title="" style="margin: 4px; width: 192px; height: 256px;"><div><br></div><div>Our class with Gail Pan was so much fun, it started with an evening event where Gail shared many of her wonderful embroidered and quilted projects. She is a delight to listen too and such a fun sense of humor! Her story and journey into an international quilt designer, author and teacher was entertaining and left you admiring a special lady who loves sharing her "darling" embroidery style! If you have an opportunity to attend a class with Gail do and enjoy!</div><div><br></div><div>We started off embroidering a journal, Gail had the pattern printed on our fabric so we could just get into the fun stuff....</div><div><img id="id_551f_c234_1ad8_40cf" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj44atdPlpj5GVr4y_OLfhXKu8bn5aDfNmF5_UD7wdsJ4dDDSfcRv2Zkb3h3ydHEJpEvazzfJ0cPvPBuiA7-u8j8pukFJm_1-6is_XfKR_CEGisuveWkz1tDrXj7eN44we-96bLpKry47Wc/" alt="" title="" style="margin: 4px; width: 192px; height: 256px;"> <br></div><div>All printed and ready to go, she brought lollies.....yum!! We enjoyed a special dinner with my sisters family with mom! It was a special day.</div><div>Monday was spent in Seattle touring the <a href="pacific sciencecenter.org/pompeii" id="id_c333_5383_ada9_5aa6">Pacific Science Center</a>, Pompeii Exhibit. The exhibit was fascinating!! </div><div>Then a lighthearted tour of <a href="www.theochocolate.com" id="id_bc30_468a_9f11_8ed7">Theo Chocolate</a> factory! Yummy samples and hot!!! I would find it a huge challenge working in the heat inside the factory!! But I enjoyed the one hour tour, and was impressed to see their efforts to be non-GMO and eco-friendly!! Seattle has so much to offer and it was enjoyable seeing new places this visit! Thanks Christie for a very fun celebration.</div><div><br></div><div>I will share my Oregon Coast retreats next......and some cute toes!</div><div><br></div><div>Heartfelt Blessings,</div><div><br></div><div>Carrie</div><div><br></div><div><br></div>Carrie ~ Cricketwood Primshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14664736471781185600noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1617496783567793229.post-25347539519648765392015-06-02T08:03:00.001-07:002015-06-02T08:18:17.362-07:00It's time to....It's time to catch up and keep up for sure!!! Right? You would think this was difficult, challenging yes but not difficult.<div><br></div><div>Sooooo this year has past the first quarter already!! Amazing!</div><div>I am very happy to see this nice spring weather for sure, not that we had a real winter. But the days were short and the nights cold. I just call it the un-winter of 2014. That is in the west anyway, I know the eastern half of our great country had the opposite. </div><div>So what I did this winter was help my mother move out of her home, preparing to put it on the market this spring. It was bittersweet for sure since Dad and Mom built this home and developed the land from scratch. It is an amazing place, 30 acres of woods, wildlife including elk, deer, bear, turkeys. Chantrelle mushrooms, lady slippers, and many other wild flowers. A pond all the grandkids caught salamanders in and floated hand-made sail boats.</div><div>I would ask mom if she was feeling any regret each time I was there and she said No Way!! When you know you are doing the right thing there is Peace! Very worth noting and remembering!</div><div>Late January we moved mom into her temporary home in Eugene. She loves it and will thrive there. Thriving is what I believe we are meant to do, not just be!!</div><div><br></div><div>I did some quilting on some projects that I made before my days at Subway. I love this wallhanging I did with Farmhouse Woolens.</div><div><img id="id_8fcc_35e2_8ab2_b3ab" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuXGF0Cbdeu29ZAGsUF44_HBRBI1nSaTL08WgrRdIsnTIqXX4ldajUoS1DkKdYX61bp7FT1sW543xUzjZXx9is2rBKatlGnL7G8qLkMcsY8NSwBXvCJstgZ4YPE5wcmvENwWm2yUY6QjeM/" alt="" title="" style="margin: 4px; width: 379px; height: 283px;"><br></div><div><br></div><div>A couple of Woolie mats, this Bunny is a Buttermilk Basin that I finished for Easter.</div><div><img id="id_87d4_f51a_c9e8_4679" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjccM_b6510A-UkYKfHdhlrziArZLepGnP_xoXxWxHq_mhSQ0Cqd9OylxlHd-n9wAPQyBX_bwffyTOmvX25Bg_I-8urJQTsB4lIbAMNsQU8UPZ7a9YvpK1vUhOht91o7Z4Z9eL-g57H3PJj/" alt="" title="" style="margin: 4px; width: 385px; height: 512.9793103448276px;"><br></div><div><br></div><div>This second is a Primitive Gatherings kit I have had for some time and love having it finished.</div><div><img id="id_98_5aeb_3ba6_b16c" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-afdHrCRXfRU/VW3F1TYzUrI/AAAAAAAAB-w/nxaEe8Rj6IQ/%25255BUNSET%25255D.png" alt="" title="" style="margin: 4px; width: 464px; height: 311.88980716253445px;"><br></div><div><br></div><div>So this is my April catch up in June!! :) Next up my fun May birthday trip! </div><div><br></div><div>Spring Blessings, </div><div>Carrie</div><div><br></div><div><br></div>Carrie ~ Cricketwood Primshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14664736471781185600noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1617496783567793229.post-81678663770874134292014-12-25T12:35:00.001-08:002014-12-25T12:35:41.254-08:00Merry Christmas 2014Wishing you all a Merry Christmas! Thank you to my blog friends that nudge me along, I appreciate all the wonderful friends in blogland. I have decided that when we travel, meeting up with bloggers is at the top of my list. We are planning some fun adventures in the next couple years so Mr. Cricketwood is on-board with meeting up too! I love that!!<div><br></div><div>This favorite quilt is off to the quilters and I am so excited about this....</div><div><img id="id_6e02_f60e_53cf_6ab2" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-fI29hjtn-cc/VH39JxIZiFI/AAAAAAAAB7M/2lyiS4zMlKo/%25255BUNSET%25255D.png" alt="" title="" style="margin: 4px; width: 412px; height: 307px;"><br></div><div>I will get it back in the middle of the month and sew on the binding, so excited to hang it this year! She is selling her home of 30plus years, which is a 30 acre tree farm as well. Whew! What a job packing your life up at 84. I personally feel I chase my tail a lot! I have very good intentions to finish projects, blog, even keep a clean house. But......Oh well All is Good.<div>So....Spring Break took HH and I to warm sunny Palm Desert, Indio, CA to be exact. We stayed at a wonderful Wyndham Resort that was so relaxing and beautiful. My one goal was to exercise every morning at their gym. I spent an hour, 30 minutes on the bike or stair stepper type gadget! And I am proud of myself that I achieved that goal. And 4 days of just laying by their gorgeous pool working on a tan, with 30 sunscreen. I didn't get very tanned, but I didn't burn myself either. It was so wonderful soaking up the warmth of the sun, I know we will be getting warm here in a couple more months, I am anxious for the change!</div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_2ea6_ba02_3203_6fc8" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIlIMTs5tfbI4f0FgqXaaxf4sdQ9ong0iKpXXz6GurN5qdKGgRYeBia0Ehg3HG-iSe0-bNAoPo6uU5DpVqLq3xlMIld6jhSle67kNC-3_Y-wSIgkPYX8HRYQsTrbeSis-Bm3ahgc3OW_VN/" alt="" title="" style="margin: 4px; width: 462px; height: 345px;"></div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_8742_a9e_6053_faa2" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEin5M9y2lnXHeIB3tr22CQWikNvoDp5wX0DcSAP-V-UT9Oe1DRPxFNadlW0r5lSzNqOotzWcNdUI9fprFiDyI7PyYBu152B5f0AkoYx6uozhwmeyw2aM-NdezAt1OchLbQkQul0hryeghU6/" alt="" title="" style="margin: 4px; width: 469px; height: 350px;"></div><div><br></div><div>The grounds were beautiful and even had a Starbucks to keep up a good cup of morning coffee. </div><div>We did some eating out at wonderful restaurants, Jackalope Grill was wonderful in every aspect. YIPPEE! <div>It has been a very good thing on many levels. First I do not hurt all the time, and I have been able to wean myself off all anti-inflamitory drugs. I had several doctor appointments getting my arthritis assessed and dealing with issues related to that. X-rays, MRI and injection of cortisone and I am feeling so much better with answers and acceptable levels of discomfort. Discomfort seems a better word than pain! Maybe its mental. Ha, thats the way you feel when you are in pain all the time. A Mental Case, it makes you so self absorbed! Trying to cope and get rid of it!</div><div>This year has been so much better, now I need the weather to clear so I can get out and walk off this winter weight! </div><div>I am so thankful for the time to be healthier, and spend so much time in my sewing room! Life is Good! </div><div><br></div><div>So many people are in real life challenges right now so I really want to say how thankful I am for all the blessings God has given to me. Family, heath and home. I am praying for healing, peace and grace for many friends right now! It keeps everything in perspective!</div><div><br></div><div>February brought a blessing of a family visit to Omaha. What a huge blessing. It's like a gigantic hug of Love!</div><div>The boys are in kindergarten, and I was there on the day of their Valentine Party.</div><div><br></div><div><br><img id="id_17c4_bb21_ed23_7eae" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiD9IAqNPdYtWIkooGK3NXzFssONE3jF54i4fqDw-Jm7u0eHlw880yGWlKoLMieJ_ktFc4E3xcW3VpkBEkjjL-BxbGiJeQFRRTkgCoz8HS7ahqATGybooRzDdIM_yEnC65TGgiX314pswLQ/" alt="" title="" style="margin: 4px; width: 292px; height: 487px; float: left; display: block;"></div><img id="id_6675_f547_e2e4_9ee2" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-NnjFRCNxPCM/UxYjneZDCZI/AAAAAAAAB3k/6sMpXP4dGzk/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg" alt="" title="" style="margin: 4px; width: 292px; height: 487px;"><img id="id_88e7_59b_44e9_7f9" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-uYx3SPkfxR8/UxYjrj2Ej8I/AAAAAAAAB3s/15Cl6W7Qr2A/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg" alt="" title="" style="margin: 4px; width: 320px; height: 535px;"><div><br></div><div>It was a fun and busy time, as always.. They are developing their iindividual interests, which is so fun to see when we visit. Jaxon is all about sports and is amazing!! He has a mind full of stats and loves to play basketball. He went to the Creighton game and had an absolute blast!!</div><div><br></div><div>Ethan had surgery on his left foot recently so he can only crawl or be in his wheel chair, bummers for awhile!! He is so reselient and loves to dress--up and plays in front of a mirror and has crazy funny conversations!! What a crack up! Hayden was invited to a birthday party of a girl in his class, so it begins! It was the first time that mom and dad didn't stay for the party, everyone survived and it was fun to watch it all develop. I must say I am always so impressed by my wonderful daughter and son in the fabulous way they raise their family!</div><div><br></div><div>I have been sewing on MerryChristmas quilt by Heart and Hand. It was feeling like winter may pass us by, that would be very bad for us this summer. So as good as the snowfall is, it made for some real crazy conditions. Thankfully, we have escaped the freezing rain the Willamette Valley experienced. For this, we are very thankful!<br><div><img id="id_e64b_495_b730_d65e" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJ2S7GwV1Q79AAx5-lzHDFANAfrNnC0t5jC900dSal6k14Zo6WwxHIuOIch6wfZK2ih4j0uoB8RcuYe3U-8JEAPSx61Xre89Zn25jBxkT6otjtVu7xYdjlZImH7QTZ1zQS9kmx2ELLBjH3/" alt="" title="" style="margin: 4px; width: 436px; height: 326px;"></div><div><img id="id_f668_f8e7_9256_e5e5" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-e7qPJeA4izI/UvkEOwA20GI/AAAAAAAAB00/Zmo9TIvvTVE/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg" alt="" title="" style="margin: 4px; width: 448px; height: 334px;"></div><div> My chicken Coop with two feet of snow, they definitely didn't venture out, they were served breakfast in bed. Well worth the $7!</div><div><img id="id_c93f_b212_f673_3b25" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-eE6IKFVKtBw/UvkEic8L4-I/AAAAAAAAB1I/pOSnS-lsS9k/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg" alt="" title="" style="margin: 4px; width: 448px; height: 334px;"></div><div>I finished the stitching on the last border this weekend and will sew it on. We are so excited!</div><div><br></div><div>Winter blessings, Carrie</div>Carrie ~ Cricketwood Primshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14664736471781185600noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1617496783567793229.post-12989264531397494912014-01-26T18:29:00.001-08:002014-01-26T18:41:16.336-08:00FlowersFLOWERS, is what is on my design wall. Flowers is a Linda Brannock pattern I am doing with a couple friends. I'm ready to have flowers in the garden but that is still many months away. I have a bit more stitching and some pieced baskets to make. The choice of the half-square triangle sashing has me occupied. I keep waffling on what I really want, so I will have to sew a few extra, to see how they look before I make a decision. Thats ok I guess because there is always a few pieces left after each quilt I make.....and how those extras can talk to you. Staying focused and getting a quilt finished has always been a challenge, I am to easily distracted. I'm going to have Courage and just stay focused, I will get to those distractions later.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Here are my blocks without any sashing triangles, next time I will have made a choice and will get them sewed on!!!</div>

<div>
One distraction this last week was the latest issue of Primitive Quilts and Projects. LOVE IT! Major distraction! </div>
<div>
Missy Carpenter's punch needle project is wonderful and she is giving away a years subscription, go to her blog, <a href="https://www.blogger.com/traditionalprimitives.blogspot.com" id="id_66e5_c647_99cf_21fe">Traditional Primitives</a>.</div>

<div>
I really like it both ways, punchneedle or wool mat. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We have been having some very spsring-like weather here in Central Oregon. I know I shouldn't enjoy it so much but we did have snow last June. If it can snow in June it can be 60 degrees in January. Feels so good. I'm sure it will change this week.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Talk with you soon, Happy Stitching!</div>

This year has started off with some unseasonally warm weather. I have enjoyed the opportunity by visiting my mother in the valley with clear driving conditions. My mother stayed home this winter from her usual trip to Arizona. It has been so nice to spend time with her over the holidays and in January.<div><br></div><div>We went to a favorite quilt shop "Something To Crow About", in Springfield. They are a small shop but full of my favorite things, and they had some finished quilts that are on my "list". </div><div>This first quilt is from Primitive Gatherings, I have this kit, but it is the first version which was a smaller scale. </div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_d23_8484_37cf_6dec" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-JNsjd_HMMRc/UuGDAHkTxwI/AAAAAAAAByw/yWJhz7xdK5Y/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg" alt="" title="" style="margin: 4px; width: 405px; height: 677px;"></div><div><br></div><div>This next quilt is a summer freebie from Primitive Gatherings, so cute!</div><div><img id="id_b138_6f5b_d218_8122" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-oXBiG2JfCLI/UuGC-8pi20I/AAAAAAAAByg/SUqqP_WAKvM/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg" alt="" title="" style="margin: 4px; width: 405px; height: 490px;"></div><div><br></div><div>Live Simply from Buttermilk Basin, I can say I did not buy this pattern set but Love it!!</div><div><img id="id_7d32_6735_edc5_abe0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyKNtT20-3J3lDSDEGCFIFKSsfvO0C3GGmCU-Vhwi4It7Vkh3vTNJxSMxDtXG1__NT70FaoMqHfOc-S4jpqgdIoQ-eO8YvNToZTF4bqHvDRlsBgcEc-Ryvf3kpSxGMyDXxPTdjWLmP6xKY/" alt="" title="" style="margin: 4px; width: 405px; height: 677px;"></div><div><br></div><div>Primitive Gathering Block of the week for 2013! I love this one, also on my "List". I love the theme of this Quilt, and will not start it until many other quilts get finished....</div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_54d5_fe30_90d8_bfea" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyPkNHRIFyhLTgZwLJid5WX7Uz_7DmvuwAkzWW4UT5_j5gMFpFx4I4Vagf73fVT6pqVDL370YdAhZlVTcJdUdcCEqRJ8cTPiLfGiMz_6ai73Y-fqH3xlkpwFDkcGu9vmArZ4ZA4iH0Tps0/" alt="" title="" style="margin: 4px; width: 404px; height: 243px;"></div><div><br></div><div>But this block: "Courage" I may do because this is my word for 2014! My oldest grandson, Tylor, enlisted in the Marine Corp and graduated from Boot Camp in December. We were honored to attend the graduation and share in his success and hard work. I am so proud of Tylor, he is a wonderful person and the most kind-hearted young man. He was absolutely committed to achieving the highest position possible in his unit. He was successful and received a meritorious promotion, and was chosen to carry the Marine Corp flag during the ceremony. I am so very proud of him! These times are very scary for me and I have been very worried about his decision. Listening to all the Drill Sargents and Officers at graduation ceremonies I heard them sa, "Courage does not mean you are fearless! It is what you do in spite of fear etc." So I embrace Tylor's life choice and will be on my own path to "Courage" this year!</div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_6d61_1da9_e4_2b76" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjo7djUio3oyTv63-a8z41PXcTg1u8srPWcjcc17FO7wMMCs9Rq4UJ90dtKFby-O9bDAQukVALTKqvb7LZr2vtaweG2VVx3R-AQjESsrN725xDTXSlIoCWAhDw8_vpj1Za2gYToMkEW7TBV/" alt="" title="" style="margin: 4px; width: 405px; height: 243px;"></div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_29e7_99d2_56d6_93b8" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-VvkJPy0GMeE/UuGDFaXLK_I/AAAAAAAABzM/j7uABaCBo5I/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg" alt="" title="" style="margin: 4px; width: 419px; height: 287px;"></div><div>Oh how we enjoyed the 70 degree weather, it was below zero when we left Oregon for San Diego!</div><div> </div><div></div><div></div><div></div><img id="id_5630_8475_3abd_1b6c" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-HWbFawbIW8A/UuGDDE1XOII/AAAAAAAABzA/RgJdPfGi2js/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg" alt="" title="" style="margin: 4px; width: 419px; height: 314px;"><div>Watching your grandchildren grow up is a wonderful experience and I am so glad I had so much time to spend with Tylor in his youth. So before the day gets busy I want to share some WIPs.<div><br></div><div><br></div><div>Tavern House by Maggie Bonanomi. Every since I first noticed Maggie's work in Need'l Love books I have loved her designs. I enjoyed taking several classes with her at The Buggy Barn. This BOM is through Primitive Gatherings, I love there color choices and of course their wool is always beautiful. I am using a primitive stitch for most of it and adding a few embroidery embelishments that I learned with Sue Spargo this summer.</div><div><br><div><br></div><div><img id="id_4c21_fbd8_d5c7_167b" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg75yHyKMbe62PiLyWJjvZWxadoOATV3rAozYdRFOLDjwX9-HMwBsANIj3TL3ZS2AyqtkcUV4ZdG_mhkGmUiatDtAv7TPyLnwyLcHGJ23YIzt-QthOfr_CJclWoyskH194zWFLBvNVOSDjI/" alt="" title="" style="margin: 4px; width: 427px; height: 319px; "></div></div><div><br></div><div>My newest WIP is a fun flower quilt with wools on homespuns and bushed cottons. I am pulling wools from my stash, which is an adventure and tons of fun finding wools I have forgotten I owned! I have found that you can spend more than a pretty penny on wools and not really have just the right thing, but making do is satisfying. I brought these blocks along with me on our trip and they are pretty quick to stitch up. One night I looked at my block and realized part of the flower was crooked. Soooo a little unsewing and the next day I payed closer attention to details. :)</div><div><img id="id_50a_16bf_2b3e_642a" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBH0ohYyA-cVUm7P7aoD9kvaIibO3xbD92fVQR7GVpZRVLNYYz8hnUevFlaoF3GvOIMochJuuQabI_DtE2W5QWHHlfZFn62YhrHcwolL-AisHCZbvNBAbWpayTB9gaKmLkAUbs-D6R75MZ/" alt="" title="" style="margin: 4px; width: 431px; height: 319px; "></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>This is a Christmas quilt by Heart in Hand, it is a BOM through The Buggy Barn. I have been working on some fun quilts and keeping busy working. <br>Since my last post I did get to go to my first quilt market in Portland. It was wonderful and overwhelming. I would love to go again next spring.<div><br>My friend Cathy, of Wild Hare Fibers, took Michelle and I along and we had lots of fun with her at market. I'm not sure if she thinks that was such a good idea now. We talked her into a BOM, that has been a good success for her and we nodded with each purchase she made. If she didn't buy it we did....LOL.....it would be so hard to shop for a quilt shop at market. It is so easy to get caught up in all the creativity. It is a smorgasbord of color, texture and pattern.</div><div><br></div><div>Cathy, Michelle and I at the Primitive Gathering booth having our picture taken by Lisa. I just love everything in their booth, especially this Tree quilt. <br><img id="id_cb1c_c4a6_5cb7_444" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-Dy4MP9xCHx4/Uk1umrwS3YI/AAAAAAAABto/pgk5GMZ5qnI/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg" alt="" title="" style="margin: 4px; width: 571px; height: 427px; float: left; display: block; "></div><div><br></div><div>The Barn Chicks...Pam and Janet. I have been having a hard time with fatigue. I have been doing something about it since late summer and I am hoping to get some answers. I also have joined a gym, I have been going for three weeks and finally don't feel like I am going to die at the end of my class. I love it and I Love all the wonderful people that attend my class. This was one of my New Year Resolutions.....it only took me nine months to get it done and I am so glad I did.</div><div><br></div><div>In August I went to the Buggy Barn Quilt Show and took a class with Sue Spargo with mom and my sister. So I spent my week with them for Spring Break. I had to make a choice to be here when they were out of school and work or be here later this week for my son's 40th birthday. It was a hard choice but I had to make one like it or not...NOT! <br>
<br>
It's really been a perfect mix of activity, resting, snuggling, eating, basketball watching. It's been so great but it is always over much to fast.<br>
<br>
Our first outing was to the Pizza Machine where there are tons of fun rides, activities and mediocre pizza..lol!!! Its all about the fun anyway. My pictures got lost somehow, I found them over on facebook, all except the Pizza Machine videos...bummer. I lost some fun videos with crazy conversation which was fun to listen to with the kids. Don't you just love kids giggles!! :)<br>
<br><br>
Next we went to the Henry Doorley Zoo, which has some WARM indoor exhibits. We started with the Aquarium. I haven't been to it so I was excited too see what the buzz was all about.<br>
Jaxon was so excited to see the Penguins and they didn't disappoint. There was a variety and they were so fun to watch.. the walk thru aquarium was very cool. Full of sharks, turtles and tons of fish. I definitely list this exhibit among the must see each time we go to the zoo. Again....the only picture left is one I posted on facebook! I am still trying to figure out moving pictures from there to my blog...this may be a very boring post. <br>
<br>
Blogger is having some issues I think......it can't be me, my post is missing a few lines.<br>
<br>
Anywhoo, its been a wonderful trip and I am now sitting at the airport rewriting my big finish..... Ha!<br>
I am giving up on pictures at this time and going to just figure them out later or it will be another 6 months before I post. I guess I will have to use my ipad for pictures so I don't have to go looking for them. <br>
<br>
Spring Blessings, whenever it decides to show up will be absolutely wonderful with me.<br>

This year is flying by! <br />
Every year I am so thankful that Thanksgiving is about fixing a wonderful meal and enjoying some well deserved family time. We go to Seattle most years and spend a few days with my sister and family as well as my sister-in-law and her family. <br />
This year we are celebrating my great-nephews first birthday on Saturday, it will be such a fun time, we are looking forward to celebrating with Davis! <br />
<br />Seattle is a fun town to visit, this year we will venture into the big city and do some shopping. My oldest grandson Tylor has requested we go, so we will venture out and see the sights.<br />
<br />
I have been spending a precious few hours each week trying to make noticeable progress on my many quilting WiPs. <br />
I have a some windows completed on one house, and a few more houses started. Its amazing how much time you can spend on details. They are fun to make, even with the applique :).<br />

I have a couple more houses done, now they need some windows and doors.<br />

Or maybe I am impulsive, whatever I am, I know I love this quilt and had to join. Not that I didn't have anything to make already but I like the feeling of being part of a group. Especially the wonderful ladies who I know in Bend and all those I have met through blogging. I know it won't be close to finished this year but its getting a little start, and I love seeing every ones project and that encouragement keeps me going, even at my own pace.<br />
<br />
I started with the Angel when I got my pattern, then work took over my life for many weeks, now I think I can give a little time each week and will work on the blocks the group is working on and start with the others when you are all snuggling under your finished quilt....sigh.........<br />
<br />
Here is my poor little unstitched angel, she looks so lonely I will have to get to work and get her some blocks and stars sewn up. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I'm off to put my feet up and stitch my little angel. You can go over to<a href="http://www.cottonsnwoolens.blogspot.com/"> Anne'</a>s and see everyones progress.<br />

It's amazing how time just flies by. We are spending the week in Omaha playing and celebrating too!<br />
<br />
The weather has been cooler this week so we are outside a bit and went to the awesome Children's Museum here in Omaha. We would love to see something like this in Bend.<br />
<br />
So next week I will catch up on my Comfort and Joy progress, it is an adorable quilt. I think I am more ADD than I ever thought with all the different WIPs I have going.<br />

I'm behind when I start so I will have to make a couple houses the next couple months. They are pretty simple and fun to sew together, just wish I sewed my windows on straight. Argh..... drives me crazy! Applique will never be easy for me. There are 10 in the quilt along, their links are listed below:<br />

<pre>This has been a sad week for us. My mother in law passed away Monday and </pre>
<pre>Joe is working out of town until Thursday. It makes it harder because he </pre>
<pre>is out of cell phone range and no internet. We do get used to being</pre>
<pre>connected don't we. We spent last Saturday night with her and we are so</pre>
<pre>thankful we did. </pre>
<pre> </pre>
<pre>I am going to hop over and check out everyone's blocks, have a great week.</pre>

Yippee!! April is wonderful for many reasons, longer warmer days is at the top of my list and a close second is Buggy Barns newsletter.<br />
<br />
I signed mom and I up for a class with Stacy of Buttermilk Basin. She has a wonderful Patchwork Leaf table topper. Wool, embroidery and looks like velvet pumpkins. I am so excited, and just darn happy to think of such warm weather you need an air conditioner. How about you!!<br />

This gave me a little time to visit with a friend over lunch, go visit a new quilt shop and spend an afternoon at the boys school. <br />
<br />
I met Sarah last summer when we came to Omaha. Her husband and mine have known each other for a while and they went on a hunting trip last October to Idaho. So this was an opportunity to spend some time together and share life stories. Friends are special, I value those treasured moments that are so rare these days. I look forward to more time with Sarah when I visit again. <br />
<br />
After lunch I ventured to a new area of Omaha with the help of my smart phone!! Love the navigational App, I was looking for a new shop that I saw advertised in Primitive Quilts.<br />
<div style="text-align: left;"> <a href="http://www.moresewforyou.com/"><i> More Sew For You!!</i></a><i> </i></div><div style="text-align: left;">It is a new shop, 9 months old, you wouldn't know it by all the fabrics, quilts and displays. I really loved everything about this shop. Lyn and her staff were friendly and helpful. Lyn allowed me to take pictures but wasn't prepared that I took one of her!! I would love to have a box of drawers for my threads like she had. There was a complete selection of valdani threads and a nice selection of wools.</div><br />

A small wool banner like the one in the second picture. There were the table top hangers too. I am making it for Krista, and I can add more seasonal ones in the future.<br />
If you live in the Omaha area you are lucky enough to have two very nice quilt shops. <br />
<br />
It was a fun and active week with my son and his family, time always goes to fast. We enjoyed the zoo, children's museum and I visited the triplets school on Friday afternoon. They are in head-start and I was so impressed with how independent they are becoming. And can I say grown up, wow, they just fall into line, get themselves dressed, cooperate very well for being3 1/2, and ride their school bus. Jaxon loves soccer, Ethan is walking with the aid of his braces and Hayden loves putting his cars and toys in rows. Hayden is very organized to say the least. <br />
The boys had a great time at the Children's Museum, there was a construction exhibit that was just awesome!! It was a great time seeing the boys enjoy all the exhibits and interact with the creative experiences. <br />
I am really hoping that it won't be nine months before I get to spend time with them. Children grow up much to fast and grandkids are one of life's most precious blessings.<br />
<br />
Spring blessings,<br />

I am taking myself a Spring Break with my son's family in Omaha!!! WooHoo!<br />
<br />
I arrived in Omaha at 2pm and this time I rented a car, a cute little red Toyota. This way Chris didn't have to leave work and I can do some running around today. I used my navigation app on my smart phone, so cool, when I got close to home I thought I'm kinda hungry so I turned up 120th. Went a ways and when I got to Center Street, their was <a href="http://www.countrysampleronline.com/">Country Sampler Quilt Shop</a>. I think I have a built in GPS for that shop. So forgetting my hunger I went shopping instead. I love this shop, they carry so much fabric and wool and also very cute gifties.<br />
<br />
This display just inside greats you with the sweetness of Spring. <br />

And a Bonnie Blue quilt with kits available, also tempting. I'm never very strong in a quilt store. <br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEis95HiC0LUBxBojaj7MmnY24cUXpprXmHif7ExTEe2jqZK2tbe9FnQVCNZJ5OfsmVsPWAlcgWr0UdRg4bpmZaxmnBJJVeR2XyXwG9gTOi04qvE4iFH3FqZwlWnXt2wrhDdvowWX3O4kJmT/s1600/CSBonnieBlue12.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEis95HiC0LUBxBojaj7MmnY24cUXpprXmHif7ExTEe2jqZK2tbe9FnQVCNZJ5OfsmVsPWAlcgWr0UdRg4bpmZaxmnBJJVeR2XyXwG9gTOi04qvE4iFH3FqZwlWnXt2wrhDdvowWX3O4kJmT/s320/CSBonnieBlue12.jpg" width="191" /></a></div>I purchased some new Jo Morton selections in reds and tans with red, some 3-strand valdani, and sweet smelling candles. I left behind the kit for Kim Diehls quilt and some Need'l love wool. I have to save some $$ for later. They have a wonderful selection of reproduction fabrics which we don't have locally so it was fun picking select pieces. <br />
After this sidetrack adventure it was off to see the main attraction in Omaha. <br />

I wasn't crazy about it at all so it was layed aside. After much shopping for and collecting wools I decided one day early this month to give it a peek. Yep, I still didn't like it. So I began pulling basted pieces off, it was really pathetic but I knew my knew stash was going to make me much happier.<br />
<br />
I needed to felt the wool pieces for one thing, the poinsettia leaves were cut from a wool piece I purchased but it had not been felted! Gasp! I know, how could I have been so naive. :))<br />
<br />
And how about some overdyed plaids, :))) for some of the poinsettia leaves, yes it is looking so much better, a little sprinkle of textured green plaids for the holly. Be still my heart, my stash of wools are so fun to cut up I can hardly stand it. <br />
<br />
If you ever saw a kit and said, " I'm sure I have enough at home to make this, I don't need the kit." Well let me say I have said that but I KNOW that is never true. $$$$$$$ dollars of wool purchases later I am finally satisfied with my choices for this quilt. But I have about 4 Buggy Barn trips and multiple other wonderful quilt shop memories collecting all my wonderful wools.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSBx267L69qjmk-N0kvOKM8NeVr49JvRo48SsAostqHDDD3gYM5CW9_HjWIl4hfnTjeLaLMISYAzqxTBrb7FCJz545AYTsU73-Ss2yypTW9y2oqRPYZtK-Gnh-M9Afu_QBq5YlRDqyZtEx/s1600/poinsettiaquilt_2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSBx267L69qjmk-N0kvOKM8NeVr49JvRo48SsAostqHDDD3gYM5CW9_HjWIl4hfnTjeLaLMISYAzqxTBrb7FCJz545AYTsU73-Ss2yypTW9y2oqRPYZtK-Gnh-M9Afu_QBq5YlRDqyZtEx/s1600/poinsettiaquilt_2.jpg" /></a></div>I decided it needed a little tweaking, moving pieces out and centering better but I love it now and even if it doesn't get finished for Christmas I know I could visit one here in Bend that is finished and mostly likely decorating a wonderful families home!<br />
<br />
We had the most wonderful Thanksgiving with family in Seattle. My niece had a baby boy Tuesday before Thanksgiving. My sister is a grandmother and I am a great-aunt. Isn't that just the greatest thing. Holding Davis, who was born at 7lb 2 oz. I kept thinking he is 2 pounds bigger than Ethan and 3 pounds bigger than Hayden but is so small. I swaddled him with such ease, nice to know I haven't lost my touch. I am so happy for them and will enjoy all their Facebook posts giving me my Davis updates.<br />

My last post was so long ago, and about my precious Slide girl. I must tell you she passed away mid June, breaking my heart. I'm a total sap and still cry when I talk about her, you never know how much a pet or a person can mean to you until you lose them.<br />
<br />
Until next time....God Bless and Keep You!<br />

Black Pearl's Treasure aka Dublin's Mudslide aka Slide.<br />
She has been such a mate, she is definitely our dog and very much my dog. She has so much desire to please, which makes her fun to train. A bit sensitive but she is a girl after all.<br />
<br />
This last year she was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy. She has a very large heart and all the complications which go along with that. I'm afraid she is going to break my heart!! <br />
<br />
So I want to share a few good things before this happens. Each day is a gift because you just don't know when the inevitable will happen.<br />

Slide held her honor until the shot, I was so tickled with her. Joe was really in heaven on this hunt. A young pup learning from Daisy Mae, his beloved veteran dog.<br />
